After a poor start into the day, it was clear I needed something to distract me in the evening. So, I booked a 6:00 PM lunch spot at Nische (again through ‘the Fork’). At Nische, the name says it all; the restaurant is more of a niche than anything grand. However, this doesn’t apply to the food. It’s more of a grand experience (okay, the courses are rather small, but very fine). The whole experience was delicious and very varied. The celery sorbet with yoghurt foam with olive oil and sea salt is definitely memorable. The brandy as a digestif was also delicious.
The service and location were very good. Since the first wine was from Germany, I had to come out and say who I was, and the Somali man occasionally made an effort to demonstrate his German skills. It was a very pleasant atmosphere.
