Nan Bei is on the 19th floor of the Rosewood Hotel (which makes it a bit tricky to find. It’s best accessed via the BTS skywalk). Nan Bei offers a very extensive selection of Chinese dishes (separated into south and north dishes with various meat, seafood, and dim sum). We came for the Peking Duck. To tide us over, we ordered a cucumber salad and the pork stickers (gyoza), as the wait for the duck is about an hour without pre-ordering. The duck is then cut up at the table (skin and breast). Sugar is then served with the skin 😜. The breast is then wrapped in small tortillas with some cucumber, leek, garlic, and hoisin sauce. You can choose the rest however you like it; we opted for deep-fried (they also served broth and 🙄). Everything was delicious. The cucumber salad had a great sesame dressing with orange zest, and the gyoza were wonderfully crispy. The service was always very attentive and courteous (almost a bit over the top, but hey, it’s a 5-star hotel, after all. There were no problems with our very casual attire, though). Definitely highly recommended!
