And another ‘free flight’ with miles (the flights aren’t completely free, as taxes and fees still apply). I booked business class with LH from Frankfurt (FRA) to Zurich (ZRH). The flight was slightly delayed because a passenger had checked in but apparently changed his mind. The delay was caused by his luggage having to be found and unloaded. But since my next flight was also delayed, I was relaxed. There was a bite to eat, although I only ate the salmon on the bread 🙈. I already had small white sausages in the SEN lounge (I wonder if they were there because of FCB 🤭).
After arriving in Zurich (ZRH), we took the train straight to E. The train is actually faster than a taxi if you’re flying First Class (or HON). However, passport control takes longer. The SEN lounge was remarkably empty (less than 10 guests). This limited both the food selection and the service in general (you always had to look for staff to get something served). The lounge has a very good whiskey selection (although this was reduced by the many Chinese guests, who only drank the more expensive brands 🤬). Even if I had booked F, I would have come here anyway.
Then, as already mentioned, we continued on to Bangkok (BKK) with almost a two-hour delay. The plane wasn’t completely full. We had green asparagus for starters (very tasty), then beef goulash with potato gratin (not bad either), and a coconut slice for dessert (okay, too). Otherwise, nothing unusual; the service on Swiss is usually top-notch. We had a small breakfast shortly before landing. Here, we used the new fast-track system. This time, the regular security check was very busy.
