Mombasa Airport is a fairly small airport. You’re scanned once upon entry. This also includes the first check of your passport and ticket (if you already have them). Next comes check-in, or baggage drop-off. After that, you go to the next checkpoint and exit checkpoint. What surprises me is that you have to provide fingerprints upon exit, but not upon entry 🙄 Then you arrive in the open waiting area with the duty-free shop. The (pay) lounge is currently being renovated. Access to the gate is again via a checkpoint, including another baggage scan. After that, there’s a manual baggage check and a body search. There’s no air conditioning in the waiting area, and everyone is really sweating 😰 Boarding is done in groups, which is also strictly controlled 😀
Nothing special on the trip back home via Eurowings.
