Abacco’s is a steakhouse chain (from Switzerland); we were at the location in Korntal-Münchingen. The restaurant was quite full, and we had a reservation, which was probably necessary. You can choose from various cuts and three different origins (Argentinian, Uruguayan, and USA). I opted for a 500g USDA Prime New York Sirloin (400g wasn’t available at the time). Then comes the first surprise: you can’t say how you like the meat, as it’s almost always cooked medium-rare. But you also always get a hot stone and can then cook the meat to your desired degree. The second surprise at a steakhouse of this quality (among the top 10 in Germany) is that you do NOT get dry-aged! The cut itself wasn’t really what we expected either; it was more of an undefined lump (which a chef would have had a hard time cooking properly). The meat itself, however, was of good quality. You also get fries, which you can reorder as often as you like at no extra charge. All in all, though, I didn’t think it was worth repeating.
