Pizza Massilia

After reading a report somewhere about Massilia, which said they were ranked 45th in the world for pizza, that was reason enough to go. I was lucky on the way there that I made it just in time before the heavy rain started. However, I ended up sitting outside (the air was too chilly inside for me). They looked at me a bit strangely because it had started to rain heavily, but the roof was enough to keep me dry, and it was nice to watch the storm. Okay, to the point: I ordered the octopus carpacio, pizza with mortadella and burrata, and the tiramisu. I had a Pelegrino and a Montepulciano to drink. The carpacio was very good. The pizza arrived before I was quite finished, but it was good. But I have to say, it might just be the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. Great crust and crust (light and crispy). The base was very thin with just a little tomato, then the mortadella and burrata were in a very good ratio, top-notch. The tiramisu wasn’t bad, but it fell short compared to the two previous versions.

The rain had now subsided enough that I wasn’t completely soaked. However, I had to cross flooded road crossings a few times, something I’d never experienced before in Bangkok.

The same restaurant within two weeks, and no Thai food – that rarely happens to me. I sat outside again, and the temperature was fine. I ordered eggplant with mozzarella as a starter and a pizza with eggplant and burrata as a main course, and this time I had Chianti with it. I made a slight mistake with the starter; I didn’t think it would be some kind of lasagna; the whole thing was so filling that it could have easily been considered a main course (I didn’t even eat it all). Then the pizza, just like last time, was almost perfect and very tasty. I actually wanted to try one of the fancy truffle versions this time, but hey, I’m still here for two weeks 😀
