Amritsar

Okay, another Indian on this stay, but since I think there are 10 Indian restaurants on this street… Amritsr is probably the best-rated Indian restaurant on Google (okay, the Punjab Grill on Soi 13 might be the same, but that will be on my next visit). The place was quite full at 6pm and almost entirely with Indians (so it shouldn’t be too bad). It was the first time I’ve been given a tin plate at an Indian restaurant to eat out of (with my hands). I had samosas to start with (they were a bit dry, but they were good for dipping into the curry afterward). The main course was lamb with Gaelic naan, both very tasty. To drink, there was the usual mango lassi (also very good). The menu is a bit confusing. You have to be able to stand the music (although one song sounded like it was by Heintje to me, I wonder who it was…).

Although the restaurant was actually very good, I won’t be going back anytime soon as I still have too many options when it comes to non-Thai food.
