Sushi Mori

The Mori was a ‘stopgap’. I actually wanted to go to Gaysorn for dim sum, but my preferred restaurant didn’t have any dim sum at the evening! Then I was too lazy to walk to Ding Tai Fung in Central World, so I stopped at the Mori on the way there and, after a quick online check, went in. It wasn’t busy, but the menu looked quite promising. I ordered two rolls (spider and unagi), as well as crispy salmon skin, roasted stingray fin, and the salmon ponzu zap. The unagi roll was great. The deep-fried salmon skin was very crispy and could easily be a substitute for the pork version. The salmon salad with spicy ponzu was also delicious. The stingray fin surprised me—also delicious, although I hadn’t expected it to be. Only the spider roll didn’t quite measure up. The soft-shell crab was too greasy, and the crumbs overpowered the flavor a bit. All in all, though, it was a very good ’emergency solution’.
