Phed Mark is by YouTuber Mark Wiens. I used to watch his videos every now and then to get tips, but I can’t stand his demeanor anymore. I wanted to try his Park Basil restaurant (KradPaKraoh) anyway, since it’s been so hyped on social media. It’s a bit far away, so I had to take the BTS to Ekkamai (4km was too far for me to walk). There wasn’t the dreaded line in front of the restaurant, but there were more and more customers taking pictures of everything 🤭. So I went straight in and ordered Park Basil with spicy level 4 (second highest), two duck eggs, and a water (in case it’s too spicy 🫣). What I noticed while waiting was that people didn’t really eat the plates; a lot of them always went back 🙄. After about 10 minutes, my food arrived. It’s hard to say, the pork was somewhat overcooked and very dry. It’s a good thing I ordered two eggs and used the egg yolk to make it a bit creamier. The spice level was okay, but unfortunately, it lacked salt. It’s a good thing the chilies on the table are always heavily salted, so I could add a little extra seasoning. All in all, the whole thing thrives on social media hype and certainly not on the quality of the food. Definitely not worth repeating 🤷♂️
