Ma Maison is located behind the Central Embassy in Nai Lert Park. It’s the middle of the three restaurants there (there’s also a cooking school there). Ma Maison is very stylishly decorated and has an outdoor area directly overlooking the park. The only downside, as is often the case, is the low air conditioning 🥶. I ordered fried mushrooms as a starter, followed by a banana sprout salad with shrimp and another Thai mackerel, and a tamarind with honey to drink. The drink wasn’t as sweet as I expected and was slightly sour, delicious and refreshing. The mushrooms were also good, and the three accompanying sauces went well with it (from sweet to spicy). The course actually came first as an appetizer 👍. The salad was super delicious, with a bit of crunch and very spicy 🤭. The mackerel was cooked for 10 hours, and you could eat the bones (I just left out the middle bone). It tasted pretty good, but I felt like the rice was missing a bit of sauce; the little bit that was included wasn’t enough (so I added a bit more sauce to the three other sauces). Unfortunately, I was already too full for dessert. All in all, it was very tasty and I’ll definitely order it again!
