Fil Fiel is located on Soi 1. I think this is my first (knowingly) hall restaurant. This is clearly evident in the guests (most of the women wore nikap (fully veiled)), and the lady was also wearing a Muslim dress. I ordered chicken with holy basil and Rio-eye soup with fermented shrimp. I went for the regular sliced version, but that would probably be too hot for most farangs 🔥. The chicken came with wide rice noodles (I used the unused ones in the soup), which was very tasty. The beef soup was also very good, but the fermented shrimp paste gave it a very specific flavor (which might not be to everyone’s taste). All in all, very good, but it lacks that certain something to make it a repeat.
