The Beer Republic is in the Holiday Inn and is also a restaurant chain. Since I’ve walked past it dozens of times, it was time for a visit. The first one didn’t work out, though, because I was there before 5 p.m. and they don’t serve beer before then (funny rule: no alcohol between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., not even at 7/11). Then I went to Siam Paragon and wanted to get something to eat. I was totally overwhelmed in the food court, so I went back to BR, by which time it was past 5 p.m. I ordered a Thai beer and the beef ribs. They then asked me if I wanted a half or a full, which should have made me suspicious. Then the ribs arrived, and they weren’t beef ribs, but pork ribs 😒 But since I didn’t feel like waiting again, I didn’t complain and ordered a portion of fries to go with it. They came pretty quickly, too. The fries were great, the ribs were just okay 🤷♂️. So, the whole thing was a bit of a disappointment (okay, I could have complained). Definitely not going back!
