After missing out on Paste last time, I finally made it this time. The Chope app listed a spot at 6:30 PM (I don’t like late bookings). The problem with Paste is that you need long trousers, which means you’ll be sweating quite a bit by the time you get there (okay, you could always take a taxi). Since I almost always reserve via the app these days, they remember me ;). I ordered the scallops, my all-time favorite pomelo salad, and then a fish curry, followed by dessert. The scallops were significantly better than in Punjab (not so overwatered). The pomelo salad with grilled sweetwater prawns was a disappointment, though. The tamarind sauce just wasn’t as good as usual, and the color and consistency weren’t the same as last time. My displeasure was acknowledged without any further consequences. The curry was very good again, as was the dessert. However, a slightly bitter aftertaste lingers, and it will probably be a while before the next visit.
