Okay, for the sake of completeness, to complete Soi 11 (apart from the fast food chains), I also went to the Old German Beerhouse (okay, I’ve been there before for a beer while watching football). I ordered the lamb shank in red wine sauce and a beer. I actually wanted to order the pork shank first, but it looked like too much. Then expectations come into play again. For one thing, red wine sauce, and for another, I had that two weeks ago at Hemingways. Then the lamb shank arrived, and I was quite disappointed; there wasn’t much red wine sauce left (like on the menu). Okay, the meat was okay, but the taste of red wine was completely lacking (unlike the one at the neighbor’s). So, I think I’d only go there again (apart from watching football) for the currywurst with fries 😀
