Ministry of Crab Bangkok

Funny, I actually thought I’d already written at least one post about the MoC, since I’ve been here about 5-6 times now, but that’s not the case (although I’ve included a few pictures from previous visits). So the MoC actually comes from Sri Lanka, and the chefs there just opened a location here. They serve crab, as the name suggests. I usually get the chili version with the crab and the pepper version with the shrimp (I don’t like chili and garlic so much, even though the staff always recommends it). This time, however, I chose a completely different version: chilled with butter. You have to order it in advance; the crab is then cooked and served cold, with butter. Here you get the pure crab taste. Two comments on this. The crab tastes delicious as it is, but the problem is that it’s almost too chilled, so the butter almost solidifies after dipping it in several times (I also know this problem from Vegas with the chilled king crab). Secondly, I actually thought the meat would be easier to remove when refrigerated, but unfortunately, that’s not the case. It was definitely worth a try, but since I tend to act on short notice, a repeat visit is unlikely. MoC was the second-best crab restaurant after MammaKong in Singapore; unfortunately, MammaKong is no longer there :(.
