Monkey Pod

The Monkey Pod is practically around the corner (although I’ve hardly ever walked in that direction). The location is right on a busy road. You hardly notice this, though, as it’s surrounded by a wall and also quite densely planted. The plants do pose the first drawback: mosquitoes 🙁 On the other hand, there are anti-mosquito sprays on the tables (which actually help). The whole thing is more of a lounge bar with chilled music than a restaurant (it calls itself a tapas bar, too). The next problem comes with the tapas; they’re actually too big for tapas. But okay, I had chicken caramel and a whole squid for the main course. The chicken, as I said, was actually too much. The squid was rather small, or rather, grilled unmarinated; okay, the sauces were tasty. As I said, the food is actually good for a bar, but a bit too little for a restaurant.
