Restaurant Farang

In Thailand, white foreigners (long-nosed) are called “farang.” It’s also often used to describe the spice level of food (farang style always means not spicy). That seems to be the motto at this restaurant. I’ve never had a mango salad in Asia that didn’t have chilies (fish sauce or dried shrimp) in it. 🙁

So, Farang reopened today after its summer break, and I thought I’d treat myself to this as preparation for next week. It has a high Google rating, and it was also recommended in the Michelin app. For me, it was mostly a disappointment. I had the tasting menu. However, only three of the eight dishes were good. The accompanying wine was so-so. The asking price for the whole thing wasn’t really justified.
